Hoo Kee Bak Chang was founded after the war by Chew Hai Chwee, a former clerk who turned to hawking street food as a more lucrative way to support his growing family. The business and the family expanded over the next two decades. Hai Chwee realised he had a winning recipe - sales were so brisk that he had to enlist the aid of eleven of his children.
For over 50 years, Hoo Kee Bak Chang has been tantalising the taste buds of Singaporeans with their traditional, authentic and delectable Hokkien Bak Changs (rice dumplings).
